Arroios

This central neighbourhood is located north-east of the historic core and includes areas such as Anjos, Intendente, and Alameda. It is densely built and has undergone significant demographic and commercial changes in recent years.

The built environment consists mainly of late 19th- and early 20th-century apartment buildings with ground-floor retail and services. Streets are relatively narrow, and public space is limited outside larger squares such as Alameda. Public transport access is strong, with multiple metro stations and bus routes. The area has mixed residential and commercial use, moderate to high population density, and property prices that have increased in recent years.
