Campo de Ourique
This residential neighbourhood is located west of the historic centre of Lisbon, between Estrela and Amoreiras. It developed mainly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is characterised by a regular street grid compared to older parts of the city.
The built environment consists primarily of mid-rise apartment buildings with ground-floor retail and local services. The area includes traditional commerce, small supermarkets, schools, and the municipal market, which functions as a local commercial and social point. There are few major tourist landmarks, and nightlife activity is limited compared to central historic districts.
Public transport is provided mainly by bus and tram connections, with no direct metro station within the neighbourhood boundaries. Streets are relatively accessible and less steep than in many historic areas, although on-street parking remains limited. Property prices and rental levels are generally high due to the central location and stable residential character.
